An interesting article from the New York Institute of Photography on Capturing Thanksgiving with your Camera caught my eye today while looking for Thanksgiving pictures. Some good advice, no matter where you're feasting.

Wanna go to Vegas for free? Check out this City Harvest promotion from JetBlue. The first 250 people who show up in Thanksgiving inspired costume with a canned food donation for City Harvest will get a free roundtrip ticket to Las Vegas from JFK.

Unfortunately, I'll be out of town that weekend, but if you win, don't forget who told you about it ;)

Well, I'm trying to gear up my winter/holiday season material, so I just added information on Ice Skating in New York City. I skated once in Rock Center, but my new plan is to check out the skating in Prospect Park... maybe it calls for a day of hooky from work to beat the crowds :)

Just added some information about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Unfortunately, I won't be there this year, but if you know someone who's going to be going and taking pictures and might like to see them on the web, email me and I'd be happy to host them on my site.

For anyone who is going to be in New York City for Thanksgiving and it looking for a restaurant for Thanksgiving Dinner, check out my selection of ideas.

A couple of weeks ago I went to see "Movin' Out" the new show on Broadway which is basically ballet put to a Billy Joel soundtrack. Not exactly my style, but check out my latest site addition, this Movin' Out Theater Review if you think you might be interested.

Did you know that you could see shows at Carnegie Hall for just $10? I had no idea, until I read about it today. They have options for students, seniors and just regular 'ol people who can't afford the full priced tickets. Now, if I could just figure out what to see.

One of my favorite things about my site is having good excuses to eat at New York City restaurants. I've just added a review of Frank a great Italian restaurant in the East Village.

When I'm doing restaurant research online, one of the first places I start is Chowhound.com message boards. They have message boards with information about all sorts of food discoveries all over -- but the New York City boards are by far the most active. People post about their experiences at every sort of eating place -- from favorite lunch carts near work to Les Halles and River Cafe.

Welcome to my new blog... here, I'll try and share with you anything exciting I find about New York City happenings, as well as articles, reviews and additions to my site.

I am Heather Klein the Guide to About.com's New York City for Visitors site. I've been running the site since March 2002 and it has been a fabulous experience so far -- I've learned so much about the city I live in and love -- and hopefully I've helped other people enjoy New York City just a little bit more.

My two "site finds" for today have been www.sallivates.com where Salli shares all her latest New York City food discoveries and www.sautewednesday.com where Bruce has done the best job I've seen aggregating and organizing dining and food writing Web sites and articles.
